Skincare Analysis
Our Skin The epidermis—the visible layer of your skin—is
a mere 1/1000 of an inch thick. Just think, your whole
appearance depends on the visible condition of less than
a millimeter of skin. The epidermis is in a constant state
of renewal, completely replacing itself every 28 days.
The miracle starts in the lower layers of the epidermis,
where new cells are continually forming. As they mature,
they slowly work their way to the surface, where after
becoming depleted of moisture, are sloughed off. At Skincare
101 we'll help you find the beautiful skin you were born
with using a skincare regimen designed just for you. As
your skin is always changing (and so is technology) we
recommend a review of your skincare regimen at least twice
a year. As new products come onto the market we personally
research them, looking for answers to each unique skincare
problem we see.
Dry Skin
Dry skin is caused by a lack of natural moisturizers within
our skin or by damage to the protective film that prevents
moisture loss from within our skin. How our skin feels
is influenced by many factors- the weather, our age, our
work, contact with certain substances, medication, frequent
washing and our genetic makeup. Dry skin is a very common
skin problem but different people suffer to a different
degree.
Dehydrated skin is thirsty! Your skin feels tight and even
chapped sometimes. It may feel uncomfortable when you are
under stress.
Truly dry skin can be scaly, it can itch
and react with cosmetic procedures including chemical peels
and microdermabrasion. Dry skin can be part of greater
issues including eczema and Xerosis.
Skincare 101 is skincare that comes with a doctor. We'll
develop a skincare program that's right for your dry skin.
