Resurfacing of the skin with the laser provides a precise removal of the outer layer and tightening of the inner layers. The effect is elimination of fine wrinkles, reduction of deeper wrinkles, and evening of skin coloration. The wrinkle reduction may be enhanced by Botox injection beforehand. Lighter treatments can be performed for the treatment of fine lines with minimal post treatment skin erythema (reddening). Deeper treatment for deeper wrinkles produces longer lasting erythema, which may require camouflage makeup. Laser Skin Resurfacing is not routinely done as the same effects can be achieved by deeper chemical peels.

Example 1
Before and after upper eyelid blepharoplasty. This woman also underwent elevation of the upper eyelid margins (blepharoptosis repair). Laser resurfacing of the forehead and temple areas was performed to smooth the wrinkling.

Example 2
Attempted frowning before and after Botox injection. Smile wrinkles at the outer corner of the eyes respond especially well to the treatment. This woman has also undergone full face laser skin resurfacing.

At the time of her upper eyelid blepharoplasty procedure, this woman received laser skin resurfacing treatment to the lower eyelids.
