Cosmetic Procedure: Treatment of Lower Blepharoplasty Complications

Back to Proceduresarrow

A complication of lower eyelid blepharoplasty with another physician brought this patient to our surgical center for treatment. Retracted (pulled downward) lower eyelids showed the white beneath the colored iris of her eyes (scleral show). The outer canthal angle was lowered. The result was dryness, burning, scratchiness, redness. Our reconstruction included elevating the cheeks, lateral canthopexy and placement of morselized cartilage grafts in the lower eyelids. The result? Improved appearance and comfort.
