Lower eyelid blepharoplasty is a delicate procedure. Complications arise at times with physicians less practiced in this procedure and their patients are referred to our clinic. Retracted (pulled downward) lower eyelids show the white beneath the colored iris of the eyes (scleral show) and the outer canthal angle is lowered. The result is dryness, burning, scratchiness, redness. Our reconstruction includes elevating the cheeks, lateral canthopexy and the placement of morselized cartilage grafts in the lower eyelids. The result? Improved appearance and comfort.
