The rim of the upper eyelid normally lies just below the upper edge of the iris or colored portion of the eye. When it falls lower on the eye it yields a sleepy appearance and can make every day activities difficult. To repair this condition we improve the attachment of the retractor muscles that allow the eye to open more. Ptosis, or drooping, repair often is performed in conjunction with upper eyelid blepharoplasty.
